Photographic Collections

Dublin Port Through Photography – Time travel to different historical periods through our photographic collections. This collection displays a curated selection of photographs preserved at the Archive. The port engineers introduced photography around 1870 to document their projects, such as the construction of quays, bridges, and other kinds of civil engineering works. The use of photography has left a legacy of some magnificent scenes showing the daily life in the port.
